UP Squared 6000 Ubuntu image not available?
Hi
After some playing with the UP Squared 6000 Edge Computing Kit and the highly announced TSN-Feature I had to install the PREEMPT_Patch. After a full system update to Ubuntu 22.04 with newest Kernel I recognized that the GPIOs won't work any more (the other question is why there is no support for any new Kernel-Versions).
Getting back to the initial state with timeshift crashed my hole system.
On the website (up-shop) there is a download link for the UP Squared 6000 Ubunut-Image -> not working.
Where can I get the "default" image so that I can create a clean system.
Thanks a lot and best regards
Patrick

Sorry guys, but this stuff is extremly confusing...
On every wiki-page and forum posts there are references to the "UP-Kernel" 5.4 for having GPIO support. Never version are not supported?
For example:
https://forum.up-community.org/discussion/4585/gpio-on-up²
https://forum.up-community.org/discussion/comment/12870#Comment_12870
https://forum.up-community.org/discussion/5039/which-kernel-version-is-supported-by-up2-6000
https://forum.up-community.org/discussion/5028/release-of-up-kernel-for-ubuntu-22-04-linux-5-15
https://forum.up-community.org/discussion/4186/latest-kernel-patches
https://forum.up-community.org/discussion/3188/solved-kernel-driver-for-gpioBut the UP Squared 6000 Dev-Kit was shipped with Linux 20.04 LTS with Kernel 5.13 -> within the wiki there is a direct linkt to for this version (https://github.com/up-board/up-community/wiki/Ubuntu). But wath is about the Kernel 5.13? Is this a specialized UP-Version or a generic one? And was there GPIO support available?
In general where to find the ressources (or how to get it work)?:
- Linux Ubuntu 20.04 LTS -> currently released is 22.04 LTS
- Kernel 5.13 ???? (generic, UP-Version, or the newest one 5.15 - who) -> https://forum.up-community.org/discussion/4905/kernel-5-13-download-link
- Kernel-patch / driver for the GPIO usage
And then, how to use the GPIOs? there are following options inside wiki- or forum pages available:
- mraa
- libgpiod
- sysfs
- Intel PWA
In my current situation none of them works for my UP Squared 6000 (EHL).

Hi Sir,
We have received this problem and are asking software engineers to help confirm it.

Hi Sir,
Our software engineers are working very hard to update support. Ubuntu 22.04 is still being tested, and an update is expected to be released before the end of this year.

Hi Sir,
I installed Ubuntu 22.04, kernel 5.15 here.
Only need to install pin control, you can control GPIO at UP Squared 6000 normally. For version 22.04, I downloaded it directly from the official website, not a special version for UP.

Hi Sir,
I've installed the pinctrl-upboards driver without any warning/error, but I'm still unable to use the GPIOs.
Following the Wiki (https://github.com/up-board/up-community/wiki/Pinout_UP6000) gives me "write error: invalid argument" when I try to export a GPIO.within the /sys/class/gpio there are following entries:
- export
- gpiochip0
- gpiochip709
- gpiochip717
- gpiochip797
- gpiochip844
- gpiochip957
- unexport
What do you mean by:
Only need to install pin control, you can control GPIO at UP Squared 6000 normally.
Best regards
