Up Board - is there plan to upgrade CPU ?
I use UP Board many years, its still good, but... is there plan to upgrade CPU in order to increase performance ? I am speaking about UP board, because it is used in my custom HW board which has addopted exact place for it. I cannot change to diferrent board size , I need to have 40pin header in same mechanical position and so on... I would like just replace UP board with more powerfull version, while I have to do it "in place" within same mechanical dimensions and properties.

Hi Lubo,
we are glad to see that our UP Board works well with you.
In fact, we are in development for the next generation of UP Board. It will be the same size and with the 40pin header. The CPU is powered by Intel Apollo Lake processors, the same as our UP Squared board. The launch schedule is targeted for Q3 this year.

Hi,
@FredyHsu , could you please tell me more about the next generation of UpBoard ? Is it just a CPU update or more broader improvements?
Also, will the EndOfLife be extended (now 2024) ?
Thank you,Pierrick, user of upboard since 2018

Hi @pmirabel
Besides the CPU, there are also key features that have been upgraded. The launch schedule is still targeting Q3 this year. We will soon release the landing page with more detailed SPEC information for this product by end of Q2.
Regards to the longevity of the UP Board, it will still follow the life cycle of the CPU from Intel. Currently is still in 2024. And it is less likely to be extended.
Thank you for choosing our UP Board for years. Feel free to let me know if there is any further question.
Cheers,
UP Team
