UPGrade to the UP 4000

Ultra Small x86 Developer Board with

Intel® Pentium® N4200/ Intel® Celeron® N3350/ Intel Atom® E3950

This latest innovation in our UP Board range, offers up to 30% faster CPU and 2x 3D graphics performance compared to UP Board to bring more industrial and full-featured computing to Edge computing. In 2015 we launched the first generation of UP Board, our product has been widely used in the makers and industrial market, including fields of IoT, Entertainment, Digital Signage, Smart Home automation, Robotics, Intelligent vending, Industrial automation, and more. Now, we're elated to announce UP 4000, the most compact and powerful maker board out there.

UP 4000 is an ultra-compact single-board computer with high performance and low power consumption. It features the Intel® Pentium® N4200/ Intel® Celeron® N3350/ Intel Atom® E3950 Processors (formerly Apollo Lake) with only 4W* of Scenario Design Power (Based on Intel® Celeron® Processor N3350) and a powerful and flexible Lattice FPGA onboard.

Inheriting the 40-pin GP-bus from the first generation of UP, the UP 4000 also comes with features upgrades compared to UP Board including below:

When you release a "board" you should release a "case" to go with it even if its a prototyping case.

Good to see the UP4000. The UP Board just lacked that bit of power and the Up Squared had too big a foot print. Do you have drawings of the heat sink available. I would like to get the case made so it is ready for when my UP4000 arrive. I am assuming the 4 mounting holes are in the same position as the UP Board. Also what is the input voltage range.

Can you explain what the difference is vs. an UP Squared board?

    Hi Kenneth,

Yes, the UP 4000 does come with a system version. The information will be released soon. Stay tuned about it.

    Thanks,

    Dear Up team,

the combination of x86 processor with an FPGA, and Pi form factor, is very interesting. But how about the availability of these FPGA chip? The typical distributors like Digikey, Mouser, Arrow, RS components or Farnell does not have stocks of this FPGA(https://octopart.com/search?q=LCMXO2-640HC-6MG132C&currency=USD&specs=0). Do you source directly from Lattice?

If that board would be easily available, we would integrate it into our products.

    Hi @bruchmueller ,

We have secured certain quantity of the FPGA. The supply is stable now. We will also re-spin the board with Intel FPGA just like we do on the UP Board, to have 2nd source. Making sure the UP 4000 supply can satisfy the demand.

    Thanks,
    UP Team
