Unable to install Ubuntu?
I started out installing Win 10 IoT on the eMMC of my UPSquared and now want to try out Ubuntu. I've flashed my USB stick and tried both LTS 16 and LTS 18. When I boot from the USB stick, whether I run the LiveCD session or try and install, the board continually reboots and seems unable to run Linux. I thought that maybe there was some TCO or TPM issue but I've since disabled both in the BIOS and the issue persists.
If I switch away from the graphical installer and view the console output, there's a flash of mount errors but I can't quite decipher them because it's too fast before the reboot.
Any ideas on what I'm missing? I'm pretty sure it came with the latest BIOS installed...

Try to follow the procedure described here to reset your board completely: https://wiki.up-community.org/FAQs#Not_Booting_or_Powering_up
To avoid any unexpected issue or incompatibility during OS installation, connect just HDMI, keboard/mouse, ethernet (or wifi) and PSU.

@DCleri, thanks for the info. maybe i should clarify - the board is booting up and i'm getting output on the monitor and able to enter BIOS settings, etc. i get to the Ubuntu splash page where you choose the live session or to install ubuntu, and it gets stuck in a reboot loop from there.
with that, i followed the reset instructions. pressed the power button, disconnected the PSU, and unplugged the battery and let it sit for a while. when i booted back up, all my BIOS settings had been reset. but, it's still stuck in the same reboot loop and never enters the installer or live system.

I had the exact same problem: https://forum.up-community.org/discussion/4233/stability-issues-some-specific-code-on-the-emmc-whiping-emmc-helped#latest
How wierd as it may sound: use a windows 10 installer (from media creation tool) to delete all partitions on the emmc (only the windows 10 installer iso would load in my case, Debian and Ubunto would crash before I could wipe the drive), reboot after that and try installing Ubuntu again.
