All it does it goes in a EFI Shell!

I downloaded from this web site the ubuntu-16.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso burn it to a DVD and plug in a USB DVD drive with 2 USB to power it good.

It spins but still just goes in the EFI Shell.

What can I type to install it in this EFI Shell?

SOLUTION:
press F7 and then I could pick to install from the USB and it's installing now.

    Hi Raymond,

Can you try to flash the ubuntu 16.04.2 iso to a USB stick and boot from USB?

Also please check from the BIOS boot menu that the USB device is recognised as UEFI bootable device.

I downloaded "ubuntu-16.04.2-server-amd64.iso" used Win32Diskimager to put it on a 32GB USB stick.

Put that stick in the USB on the back of the Up2 board. But still just boots up to the yellow "Shell> _" for me to type something.

After about 1 minute if I don't type the screen goes blank and I can't get it back hitting any keys or moving the mouse. I have to do a Ctrl, Alt, Del on the keyboard

Comes up "EFI Shell version 2.50 {5.12}"

    "Device mapping table

    fs1

    blk0

    blk1

    blk2

    blk3

    blk4

    blk5

Press ESC in 1 seconds to skip startup.nsh any other key to continue."

Then all I can do it type.

    I typed /boot/blk0 to blk1 but it don't work.

    Hi Raymond,

Please keep the USB stick inserted into UP^2 while performing the following steps.

when you boot the board, could you press DEL to enter the BIOS while the AAEON logo shows up?

Just press enter once prompted for password and then move to Boot menu.
What are the options available there?

    Thanks

Looked on Google and came to a link here:

    https://up-community.org/forum/general-discussion-up/1209-up-board-out-of-the-box-booting-directly-to-efi-shell

It said press F7 and I did and then I could pick to install from the USB and it's installing now.

    very good!

Another way is to enter in the BIOS menu and then move to the boot menu, but pressing F7 is easier ;)
