That BIOS version you have sounds pretty old. Do you have a pre-production UP board, by any chance?

I don't think the newer BIOS firmware should be installed on pre-production versions of the UP board. It may be best to contact AAEON or the UP Shop to clarify this.

Yes, this sounds familiar. AAEON need to supply you with a different BIOS version for your board that will enable the full 2GB of RAM that you have.

    Hi mastha666,

We are doing our best to support the community and UP users.

As mentioned on our emails, the pre-release boards are not supported.

If a third party shop sold you the board as new, please contact them for how to return it.

    Thanks

    Hi dcleri,

    why is that not supported?
i bought it second hand from someone.
i asked support for updating bios by Aaeon and now the board only show 1GB instead of 2 GB
so i got support to make my board even slower than a Raspberry Pi 3 and now i got no support to fix the problem ??
    very strange customer support??
i still need help to fix this problem.

    so please help!!

    Hi mastha666,

I am sorry about your issue and for not being able to fix the issue for you. Unfortunately your issue is not due to our lack of support.

You bought a used pre-production board from a third party. That board is more than 1 years old as the pre-production boards where shipped on February 2016. You are entitled to ask your seller to replace or refund the board, but unfortunately as we haven't sold the board directly to you we cannot do much.

The pre-production board where intended for evaluation and beta-testing only and people who joined the beta testing on kickstarter were clearly informed about everything (the limitations, the open issues, etc.).

Pre-production board support stopped once the official board was released in June 2016 so any new BIOS and Operating System release is not intended to be used with those systems.

To avoid any problem I would suggest to buy the UP Board from our shop or our approved resellers.

    Thanks
