USB dongle-Wifi Driver Ubuntu 16.04 (UP board)

Are there updated wifi drivers for the wifi USB adapter( RTL8192CU ) I purchased with the UP. I see in some other threads that there are some patched drivers for some other linux versions, but wonder if there is a preferred driver for Ubuntu 16.04. I believe I am getting some major drop offs with current stuff, currently have Ethernet cable plugged in.

I know that there have been issues in the past with some of these adapters, like I believe some of the Edimax adapters did not work well with some of my Odroids... Wonder if I should instead try one of the Odroid Wifi adapters, like either the Wifi Module 3 ( Realtek RTL8188CUS-GR ), or 4 ( Mediatek (Ralink) RT5572N ) or 0 (Mediatek Ralink RT5370N )

    Dcleri: since yesterday:
    - forum appears crippled in appearance
    - full editor does not work anymore
    - mail notifications for subscribed topics are not sent anymore

    Will try building the driver for the one I purchased from UP using your instructions. Maybe there should be a link into some place like the hardware documentation page.

    Edit: Tried going to "Got to editor" and it lost what I typed. So I typed again. Then I thought I would try to insert a link to your instructions. So selected some text, clicked on the link symbol, which brought up secondary view with everything disabled, so could not do anything, except hit back arrow to go back in history.

    Thanks for the feedback
    - the appearence should be fixed now
    - editor has been limited to bbCode for now as on most forums, it also includes the possibility to have links and attachments anyway
    - mail notification should work again

    Hi Kurte,

    The community users can already participate to the wiki.
    We can start adding some tables for supported/tested adapters and also link external resources which may include even more information
