ubuntu 16.04.3 doesn't boot up after successful installation on up2 board
Hello guys,
I had installed ubuntu 16.04.03 from usb drive on up2 board. It got installed successfully. And after this it gave this message 'Remove installation medium and press enter'. I removed usb drive and pressed enter key.
But ubuntu didn't boot up although it got installed successfully. Could anyone please tell what could be the reason for this?

Did you manage to resolve this? I must say the decision to switch servers and forums so soon after people are getting delivery of these boards is quite worrying.
I have my Up core running the unbilinux it came with but I'm very unimpressed, its painfully slow (probably only 1 core running).
I would also like to switch to a different linux but info on the process is either not here or hidden away.

just in case anyone is coming across this thread and is wondering: Ubuntu 16.04.03 LTS is working without problems for me so far. With both the default ubuntu kernel and also with 4.9.45-upboard

Hi!
I had a similar problem, I took out the msta drive, restored the bios to the default settings and I was able to install.

Hi all,
if you still have problems to install ubuntu on UP, please refer to the following steps
1. Download Ubuntu 16.04.3 iso
2. Download Rufus
3. Ceate USB installation media from Ubuntu 16.04.3.iso, Partition default for MBR parition sheme for BIOS or UEFI computes
4. Change the boot setting for boot from USB flash drive
5. Install Ubuntu, and reboot when complete installation or system asking for reboot -
@rogertsai(AAEON) I followed your steps, but my 2 brand new UpSquared refuse to boot after the installation They are both stuck on the BIOS screen.
I can run Ubuntu 16.04.3 in try out mode on my USB key though...
It looks like the board doesn't want to access his own memory to boot (I have the 32Go version), and YES I changed the boot order priorities (it doesn't do anything). -
Hi @Antoine
Make sure the BIOS version of your UP Squared is the latest, 4.0 or newer once available (if not update it after downloading from the downloads section: https://downloads.up-community.org/categories/up-squared/)
Please reset the BIOS settings to default.
Then follow the instructions from our Wiki: https://wiki.up-community.org/Ubuntu#Ubuntu_16.04_installation_and_configuration -
@DCleri
We have the UP-APL01 R4.2 (UPA1AM42 ) (03/12/2019) BIOS already installed (from factory).
Not sure what you mean by "reset the BIOS settings to default" ? "Restore Defaults" in the Aptio Setup Utility doesn't do anything (I don't think that we've done some modifications anyway). What should we do ?
