Hi
Yesterday received my new up board, set it up all working fine, then disaster.
I use it with a robohat that has a 11V supply (with the same plug), pluged the wrong plug into the up board.
Now the up board boots into linux as can be seen from the hdmi output.
But there is now no 5v to the USB so cant communicate with it.
should i be able to use it with a powered USB hub ?
is there any other way of powering it?

Ah..sorry to hear this.
I am surprised the UP board still works in Linux.
I am quite sure some circuit has been burnt.....it is kind of way of no return. -
ok thought as much, so its back to the trusty old pi then for now.
Thanks for the reply. -
If you don't want to just toss the board, you could try bypassing the Up boards 5V and wire a 5V source straight to the USB supply pins. Might work, but there could be other unknown damage.

Sorry to hear that. Been there, done that https://up-community.org/forum/general-discussion-up/2069-now-that-i-fried-my-only-up-board
I ended up ordering a new board, as mine was toast! -
just tried powering the usb's with a powered hub and all that happens is the usb ports get to hot to touch in about 5 minuets.
I will have to save my diner money again. trouble is my wife only allows me £1.25 a day, so unless i can get a raise it will be a bit of a wait.
