I am using the 4G/64G UpBoard for Mythtv (0.28) Backend/Frontend with excellent results. For storage, I use a 256G USB3 Mushkin thumb drive. OS is Ubuntu. At idle, machine draws about 6W. During LiveTV, about 8W. UpBoard proving to be a superb low-power Mythtv machine.

    For FrontEnd use, to prevent limited screen tearing that occurs with Intel graphics, create /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf:

    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Intel Graphics"
    Driver "intel"
    Option "TearFree" "true"
    Option "AccelMethod" "sna"
    EndSection
