How to Power UP Board from 5V USB Adapter

Hello,

We have an UP Board, and we power it from the 5.5 mm adapter to wall socket.
However, we are trying to go mobile, and so We purchased a USB adapter similar to the one here:

When we power the board on, it works - but as soon as we get computationally heavy (Camera running and saving images) - The board resets and shutsdown and restarts.

Is our cable not the right voltage/current? How can we power the ub board from this USb adapter?

    What are you plugging the cable into? A normal USB port on a PC/Laptop certainly will not do, as will most USB phone chargers, because they simply can not deliver the necessary current on a single USB port. For example, the most powerful powerbank I could find on a quick search is this one, which can do 5V/5.5A, but only 2.4A per port max.

    The cable might be a weak point to, depending on the quality.
    You will need a 5V/4A power supply for the UP board to work properly, especially if you are using peripherals like a camera. If you can't find one like that, you could get a Female to 2 Male USB cable like this

    to be able to use 2 USB ports (e.g. of the power bank) at the same time.
    If all the cables are good (thick) enough to be able to actually support that much current, you should be good.

    If type-A is not a hard requirement, you may also want to look at USB type-C chargers, especially the ones designed for laptops. They can typically deliver more current, I have been powering my board for a while with one (through the 5V pin, hope this is ok but looking stable so far).
