M.2 WiFi card disapearing??

I added an Intel AX200 wifi card to the Up2 and it will work for 1-3 days, but then out of nowhere it just disappears from Device manager, weird part that the Bluetooth part of the M.2 card remains active.

Reboots don't help, they only way to get the card back, is to turn off the device, boot it, turn it off, and put the card back, it will work for few days again and then disappear.

I'm on the latest 4.6 bios, this device seems extremely buggy.

Anyone have any idea how to prevent the device from disappearing?

    Hi @name

As you can see on the Intel product page, you need at least a kernel 5.1+ to correctly load the firmware: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005511/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html

At the moment we haven't tested the module as the supported kernels are 4.14 LTS and 4.15.

Didn't mention it in original post, this is Windows 10, so Linux kernel does not apply here.

Do you have any other device with M.2 that you can test the module to see if it doesn't have the same behaviour?

It is important to remove the possibility that is a Windows driver/firmware issue.

in few days I will try to get a different m.2 card.

So far I tried two AX200 cards and both are behaving the same way.

New thing I will add that, it seems i don't have to remove the card.

When the card disapears, and you reboot the pc, its still gone.

But after the card disapears, shut down, unplug the power for few seconds, start up the up2 and the card is back for next few days.

    Hi @Name,
Could you please let me know if you found any solution for this problem? I want to use the same configuration (Up2+AX200). Your comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi All,

We are implementing some changes in the BIOS to add support for certain Intel WiFi card which currently are not working on UP Squared (like 9260 and AX200).

We will keep you posted once the new BIOS is available.

    Hi Admin,
Please let us know if you have any estimated time for this as we have a critical deadline and waiting to order the required additional hardware.

The new BIOS is under internal testing and it will be released at the beginning of new year.
