Decoding x265

Hi,
I'm currently using a raspberry pi as Media Center and I'm pretty happy with it, but it can't decode x265. Considering the huge gain in space when using it, it's starting to feel a bit annoying, so I'm thinking about replacing it with something else.
Has anyone tried decoding x265 with the up board ? Since it's a real x86 processor I'm guessing it should be fine, but before ordering something that expensive I'd rather be sure
If that matters, I'm of course talking of using Linux, I'm currently using openelec but I guess I'd install a simple Gentoo with kodi on it.
Thanks

Hi Ulrar,
x265 decoding (via Software0 is supported for sure on the UP Board.
If you are interested in Hardware decoding for x265, you might want to check this topic on the Kodi forum: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=231955&pid=2051116#pid2051116
They claim that Braswell (and so also the Cherry Trail on UP board which shares the same GPU) support HEVC hardware decoding with the latest Kodi/OpenElec. -
Ha, that's great !
Thanks a lot, then I guess I found my next media center -
You sure have!
I'm using one as a plex server and anther as a windows client as transcoding is very good!
