TCC-specific BIOS for x7425e

Options

I have some experiences on x6000 series CPU with TCC-specific BIOS. But the BIOS for x7425e version of Up Squared Pro 7000 apparently is not TCC-specific. I can’t find such firmware on Up’s download page. Where can I get it?

We do not provide TCC firmware for download.
Could you please tell me what do you want to use it for??

For digital audio applications / realtime kernel. At least can disable turbo boost, speed step , speed shift and c-state in BIOS.

Hi @HarryChiu I bought your Up Squared Pro 7000 x7425e because you advertised it with TCC capabilities. If you don't provide such BIOS for this machine it may lead to false advertisement.

    Hi @e1guapo

    Sorry for late reply.

Intel ADL-N X7000 series does support TCC. But please be note that the design architecture is different to the Intel EHL X6000 series.
The configuration is designed in the BIOS code already. You simply need to enter the BIOS admin mode and enable the function.

However, please make sure you’re running on the Real Time OS. For example, Intel is validated it with Intel Yocto RTOS environment.
    BIOS admin password: upassw0rd
Config path: CRB setup > CRB advanced > intel(R) Time coordinated computing
Set the intel(R) TCC mode to enable.

Please also share with us your application if possible.

If there is any question, please let me know.

    Best Regards,
    Harry Chiu

    Hi Harry
Thanks for the help! I've enabled TCC and also running Ubuntu customized Intel IoT RT kernel. Everything looks great!

My main application is digital audio. Here's the example of the Ravenna/AES67 audio streaming. The data stream contains 13 channels DSD256 (approximate 180Mbps) with as low as 1ms buffering.

It looks stable to me now. If no TCC just simple RT kernel it would show larger deviation.

    This was TCC-disabled:

It's obvious TCC-enabled has better buffering status.
