UP Xtreme i11 (Version 0001) UART on connector CN11
I have a board "UP Xtreme i11 (version 0001)".
I want to use the UART (HSUART2) which is available at the connector CN11.
I can't use the COM cable FWAA-1375 directly, because the pinout for the connector CN11 is different from the pinout for the connector CN28/CN29.
I have modified the cable accordingly and only use the signals "Rx", "Tx" and "GND".
The cable is electrically OK; on the remote terminal I receive characters when the computer is started.
However, these are "cryptic" characters, although the remote terminal ("gtkterm") is set to 115200 baud 8N1 (without hardware flow control).
On the board "UP Xtreme i11" I use the program "minicom" for the test and have set the port /dev/ttyS0 also to 115200 Baud 8N1 (without Harware Flow Control) .
Do I have to make any settings in the BIOS for the "HSUART2"?
Do I have to use a special Linux kernel driver?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Will the loopback test work? And please make sure both sides are using UART with 3.3V TTL levels -

Thanks for the answer!I have learned in the meantime also by chance that on the connector CN11 the signals have a level of 3.3V TTL.
Unfortunately, this reference is missing in the user manual and it cost me several hours of time!
It would be very helpful if the user manual would be supplemented.
