archer t3u plus ac1300 compatibility with up xtreme i7-8665ue

I am currently running the xtreme i7-8665ue with ubuntu 20.04.3 and I am struggling to get the network adapter I have to work. the network adapter I have is the tp-link Archer t3u plus. the drivers are normally installed by a cd but I do not own a cd-dvd reader I can use with the board. I have plugged the board in through ethernet and got a driver for Linux online and attempted to mount it manually but cannot get it to work. is there a board incompatibility with this device or a different way to get this device to work so I can use a wireless network instead of an ethernet cable?

Hi @ss_frigid ,
I am guessing it is a driver related issue. Try to follow this discussion, maybe it helps.
