Replacement Ethernet Jack
I have an UpBoard with a damaged Ethernet jack need replacing. Any idea where I can find a replacement from? I am not having much luck matching up the numbers on the jack itself.
UpBoard 4GB Ram 32GB eMMC model.

The PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Traces are So Small nowadays that De/Soldering onto a PCB are almost impossible. A Work-around is to purchase a USB-to-Ethernet(RJ-45) Dongle. Of course you lose use of one of your (4) USB Ports this way.

@douganatornz Did you end up finding the part number for the RJ45 connector? Do you happen to know if it has magnetics built in or is that on the board? (that would determine the type of RJ45 jack needed)

Hi @waynepiekarski ,
Kindly proceed with an RMA to have it fixed. If you bought it from UP shop directly you can raise an RMA from here , otherwise please raise it via your reseller.

My board is not damaged, that was the original poster who had this problem. I was curious about the possibility of desoldering the ethernet jack and soldering the CAT5 wires directly to the PCB. So wanted to look at the datasheet for the RJ45 connector. If the RJ45 has the magnetics built in, it would not be possible, but if the RJ45 is just straight through, I guess it could work? Thanks.

Hi @waynepiekarski ,
Kindly find attached the datasheet for upboard from here . You can find the part number there as well.

Thanks for the reply. It seems like the RJ45 jack used includes magnetics, and is not just an 8-pin pass through to the CAT5e cable.
