Boot from external drive
I have cloned a windows 10 installation with our own software package installed from the 32gb up-boards that we have and now trying to set that usb drive (a 64Gb flash memory connected to the micro usb port) as the primary boot device but each time I restart the up-board it doesn’t load the windows from the USB memory and changes the boot drive back to main hard drive and if I try to manually select the boot device also does not load it and starts the windows start up repair process.
Could you please give instructions on how we can solve this problem.

The issues causing your problem might be a few.
To start, please check that the RTC battery is working properly
Also you should not clone from eMMC to USB, but install from scratch on a USB drive and then clone it. Please try to install Windows on the USB drive and see if the reboot works and it boots from USB correctly

I got the above message when trying to install on that USB

Installing and booting windows 10 from USB is not straightforward, please have a look at that tutorial (not tested internally) for further instructions:

Thanks a lot for your help so far. I took all the steps using Rufus and when trying to load from USB this time I get the error above

it seems you are missing the efi boot loader. It should be explained in the documentation, but after checking they are suggesting something wrong.
"At the next screen, you'll need to determine your destination disk. Open the drop-down menu and choose your USB drive. A message pops up asking you to select a partition scheme. Click the MBR for BIOS option and hit Yes."
You should instead select GPT for EFI.
Try again with that option and let me know -
With MBR option I still get error as attached
