I2C buffer size

Hi,

I am trying to get a thermal sensor (MLX90640) to work with the up board. I have managed to get it to work both on embedded platforms and RPI but not on the up board using the following library ( https://github.com/pimoroni/mlx90640-library) .
I was wondering if this might be an issue of I2C buffer size,
What is the I2C buffer size and how can i change it?
