Disabling password requirement on boot

I've been through the BIOS (2.18) and can't see a way of disabling the requirement to enter a password on boot. Perhaps it's because I'm trying to get it to boot of USB and it wants to confirm that every time.
The 'help' suggests that if I don't have a user password there should not be a request for a password. Perhaps there is a user password, but if there is how do I clear it?

There is no operating system installed to the board and probably the USB is not bootable.
Please make sure you have a UEFI bootable USB, you can find instructions in our wiki: https://wiki.up-community.org/Setup
The password is not required, you can just press enter and you can access the BIOS menu as user and check the system settings.
The password popup won't show if you have a bootable USB or system installed into the eMMC.
