I Need Help Using the UP Board to Make a Homemade iPad Retina Display Connection.
Hello Everyone
I am reaching out to you to ask for advice and to let others who are interested know about my idea. I am creating a homemade connector system that will allow iPad retina screens to be used with the UP board more accurately, the UP Core. While happy about this setup opportunities; I have run into a few problems and would appreciate any guidance.
The main goal of my project is to design a converter that uses the CN31 connector to directly link the iPad retina display to the UP board. The backlight controller is based on Adafruit Qualia; and I created the connection opposite using the OSH Park flex service. The goal is to take advantage of the iPad screen excellent resolution and quality for a variety of uses, such as a mobile monitor and an integrated component of a customised design.
As of right now; the connector was successfully made utilising the OSH Park Flex service. used the Adafruit Qualia design to create the backlight driver. Using the CN31 connector; attach the iPad screen to the UP board.
I am having trouble making sure the main factors work properly and are appropriate with the UP board. There are problems with the display startup even with the Adafruit Qualia based lighting controller used.
It's been challenging to control the iPad display power supply. Without taking a chance on component damage, I want to make sure there is a constant power supply.
The performance of the display appears to be affected by signal integrity problems. I am not totally sure how to identify or address these.
connecting the operating system on the UP board with the display. Although I presently use Ubuntu,I am open to suggestions for any other OS that would provide better support or functionality.
- Has someone completed the same setup successfully and is ready to share information about the drivers to use or the modifications needed to ensure connection?
- suggestions for best practices or power management circuits to ensure a steady and secure power supply for the retina display.
- Advice and resources for improving the reliability of signals and solving issues with high resolution screens connected using UP boards.
- The best methods for connecting Linux based operating systems with high-resolution displays on the UP board. Are there any particular software tools or settings that can help with this process?*
Also I explored some topics related to this https://forum.up-community.org/discussion/5368/edge-servers-and-iot-applications-insights-and-experiences-from-up-community-members?utm_servicenow=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=Utilizing+UP+Board+ but I did not get the sufficient solution of my query so I would really want to get some help from a more experienced person.
Any advice; ideas; and experiences that can help me overcome these challenges are greatly appreciated. If this connector is made successfully; I think there will be a lot more opportunities to use high quality screens with the UP board; and after the project is finished; I am excited to give back to the community by creating a comprehensive guide.
Thanks in advance i for your help
