Slow down CPU speed!!

Hi,
is there any chance to set CPU speed in BIOS to lowest possible value to save e.g. power consumption in log term op. 24/7?
As an alternative are there some utilities controlling CPU clock?

    The Intel frequency scaling driver already take care of that, so if your applications do not require high performance the cpu will always run at its lowest clock.

    The intel_pstate driver supports only the performance and powersave governors and by default is set to powersave.
