No netboot/PXE boot ?

I've had a look in the BIOS config and dont see anything obvious for configuring network booting, and the UEFI shell doesn't have ipconfig support.
Does the UP board support booting from network at all?

Hi, Before I pledged on Kickstarter I asked the Up team and was confirmed that it should work no problem. I certainly hope PXE is still there! Looking forward to an official statement on this ?
-
Can there be an official response?

We are sorry fro previous incorrect information.
After investigating, the Ethernet chip RTL8111G only support WOL but not PXE. -
What about network support within UEFI?
-
Well, that's a shame, I purchased based on this information provided by you :-/

This is not a good start.
leonderooij - What I intend to do is boot iPXE from a USB stick which will provide full PXE/Netboot support. -
That's a really big loss, you've been advertising it from the start and still advertise it on the product pages as an enabled feature - http://up-shop.org/up-boards/2-up-board-2gb-16-gb-emmc-memory.html

I agree that's a real bummer to not have PXE support. I was looking to buy these but required PXE support. Chainloading from USB would probably work but a bad solution.
I made an account on the forums just to post this. I hope there's a solution in the future. -
Hi All,
Our BIOS engineers are actively working on this feature so it can be enabled by future BIOS releases -
Hi, that's really appreciated!! Already having fun with the boards so far, pretty fast for such small passively cooled devices
-
Yes. hope PXE boot will support soon.
-
Did you success to make iPXE boot?
-
Hi zerofai,
We got PXE boot working!
We are going to release the new BIOS as soon as possible, hopefully next week.
We will keep you posted! -
is this implementing the USB3 fixes from intel too?
-
hey cool! looking forward to trying it out
-
The new BIOS with fixes from Intel is not ready yet.
The improvements, including on USB, has yet to be tried out, any new update on the USB3.0 status will be updated in the related topic: https://up-community.org/forum/public-otheros/290-usb-3-0-otg-not-switching-to-superspeed?start=40 -

Hello DCLERI, I am currently on BIOS Revision UPC1BM0S, hence pretty old.
For applications where PXE is not needed, would I get any benefits by updating?
I am afraid of potential hiccups in the update process / downsides afterwards.
thank you. -
0S is the previous version, and there aren't improvements that require to update to 0X if you don't need pxe boot.
