Ubilinux wifi does not work

I just obtained the Up care a few weeks ago. Install ubilnux latest version on it. Everything went fine, but the wifi does not seem to work. The device was not found on the system despite the driver was installed correctly. I tried
sudo apt-get purge firmware-ampak-ap6214a
and then install the firmware back. It was installed successfully
Then I reboot and looked for wifi device. It is still not found. When install other wifi dongle, it is working ok. Could this be a chip faulty?
Does anyone suggest method (linux command) to test whether the wifi chip is working?
Thanks
