Hi,

Since a few days my Up2 reboots randomly.

uname -a

Linux up2 4.13.0-37-generic #42~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 7 16:03:28 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I also installed tuptime and this shows for tuptime:

System startups: 47 since 11:30:25 2018-03-09
System shutdowns: 0 ok - 46 bad

and for tuptime -l

Startup: 44 at 20:29:36 2018-03-14
Uptime: 2 hours, 0 minutes and 25 seconds
Shutdown: BAD at 22:30:01 2018-03-14
Downtime: 12 minutes and 20 seconds

Startup: 45 at 22:42:21 2018-03-14
Uptime: 4 hours, 27 minutes and 40 seconds
Shutdown: BAD at 03:10:01 2018-03-15
Downtime: 13 minutes and 4 seconds

Startup: 46 at 03:23:05 2018-03-15
Uptime: 4 hours, 1 minute and 57 seconds
Shutdown: BAD at 07:25:02 2018-03-15
Downtime: 11 minutes and 27 seconds

I already checked syslog, kern.log and auth.log but found nothing suspicious.

Anybody any idea what I can check/do to find out why my box reboots randomly?

Thanks,
Thomas

Same problem here, on a on Pentium Quad Core, 8GB RAM. Twice or three times after rebooting, it shuts down for a long while. I updated to new UEFI BIOS 3.3 and temperatures seem to be up to 40ºC. I'm wondering if it's a cooling problem, but I'm not sure. This problem persists no matter if I boot from Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon, Batocera.linux 5.14 or Ubuntu 17.10.

    Any idea?

    Thanks you in advance,

Upgrading to active cooling seems to solve the problems reported in my system. I hope this info can help other people with the same problem.

After few weeks I have notice that active cooling is not enough (at least the part EP-FNDCACTCLUPS I've got provided by UP Shop). I also had to retrieve the top of the case in order to prevent reboots. If I leave it installed, system reboots after a while running Batocera Linux, or under a high load task on Linux Mint. I wish I have bought a better cooler :(
