When I backed this project I was lead to believe android image would be released, so where do I get it?

We will have to add wifi/bt into UP Android image to make it work on UP Core.
Let me check with our technical team when it can be ready. Before that, you might use UP Android image https://up-community.org/downloads/category/20-android.
