XRDP does not work as-is after you install it with apt. Now the problem is that in /etc/X11/Xwrapper.conf access is restricted to 'console' whereas you really do want 'anybody'. Also you'll want to put 'startlxqt' in the /etc/xrdp/startwm.sh and comment out the Xsession lines.

Just a bit of PSA before you go installing xrdp from source in desperation etc..
