GPIO help

Hello,
I want to set a gpio pin via a bash file or python, close the file leaving the pin set as per the script, then some hours later run a second script to reset the gpio.
I can do this with a PI and an Odroid UX4 with wiringPi. how can i do it with the Up Board??
