UPS hat (UP Squared) behavior when Up Squared board is powered from 5V barrel

I just wanted to check what the expected behavior is when the UPS hat is supplying power to the board in addition to the 5V barrel.

Does the UPS hat's battery charge from the 5V barrel of the board, or can it only charge from the UPS hat power input.

Is it definitely fine to supply power from all 3 sources at once - Up board's 5V jack, the UPS hat battery and the UPS hat's own 7-12v input.
