HDMI CEC or similar causing issues

Running LibreElec 8.1.2 on a new UP Squared board. When I connect the board to my Denon AVR it appears to block any CEC or ARC activity on the Denon AMP. As soon as I connect it the Amp my Sony TV reports it has lost connection to the Audio system (i.e. the ARC connection has gone)
Disconnecting the UP Squared - everything works OK.
