Running : Linux me 4.4.0-2-upboard #12-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 1 15:01:52 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
(uname -a)

The 1080p screen resolution foes beyond screen (FHD Vise 39") tv display over HDMI.

I think this might be overscan issue as told by some. Please help me understand how to fix the same if possible. Thanks in advance.
I never thought I could fix the screen by using TV settings. FOR THE RECORD I SWITCHED TO "POINT TO POINT" OPTION IN ASPECT RATION AND IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM.

Have you tried to change the display settings from the TV menu?

Some time you can switch from 16:9 to adapt/source, etc.

If not you can adjust via linux command line.
