I don't think that SATA is working on mine?

When I 1st went to set this up I plug in a DVD SATA drive. But nothing from it. I had to use a USB to DVD drive to install.
Just 1st went in the BIOS and in "Advanced" tab has "SATA Configuration" mine says "SATA Port [Not Installed]" is something wrong with it?
