USB 3 port not working

I have recently started using an UP board whilst I wait for my UP Squared.
I can plug USB sticks, USB3 cameras and a USB3 hard drive into the USB2 connectors ok.
I then bought a converter plug to USB3 micro B & tried them in the USB3 port.
Nothing is recognised!
Do I need to enable this port - or are my (2) converters not working??
Many thanks

Hi lawsonnoble,
Unfortunately micro USB3.0 ports are a bit sensitive to cable/adapters quality. Many micro to USB3.0 adapters are not great .
We have tested 2 kind of adapters, which works fine, that you can find on the UP shop:

Thank you ever so much for your help. I have ordered your cables and I am waiting for delivery.
Meanwhile, - today I tried a USB OTG conversion cable from UGREEN. (This one specifically said OTG)
Success! - It worked with my Samsung portable hard drive (which is USB 3) .. but when I plugged in my USB 3 board camera I got a video picture for the first time ... but then the video always freezes after a few seconds.
Could this be a a speed problem? ... Is USB 3 OTG different to USB 3 in some way?
(This is for a project for 200 units)
Many thanks if you can help.

Hi lawsonnoble,
I think that would be best if you open a new topic on the camera issue as the cable issue seems to be solved.
To understand what is the problem of the camera you should provide more details about your setup (camera, power supply, otther peripherals, software used, etc.) -
Okay - Many thanks
