I plan to use the board for educational purposes and I would like to build an environment that mimics as much as possible the raspberry pi / raspbian . Are you planning a Debian / Ubuntu distribution dead would allow that?
Alternatively, how will you do it?
I would not want to end up with the need to recompile all programs, but rather I would like to be able to tap into existing repositories.
Thank you.

Hi MarcFinns,
The ubilinux distribution offers LXDE and a certain set of applications by default on the installation image. However, you will still have access to all Debian Jessie software from their repositories. From these, it's possible to install any other desktop environment you like. Ubuntu support is planned as well.
