MIPI-CSI cameras for UpBoard

As far as I have read there are NO cameras available that work on the MIPI-CSI connector of the UpBoard, is this still true? I'm looking to connect an IR-Cam to blob track people for a media installation. Would it be an option to use an IR-Cam over USB then? If so, which would you recommend?
Thanks for any help!

    Hi Alberto,

yes, CSI cameras are not yet available.
We are working with Intel and Chicony on a CSI camera.
We suggest to use a normal USB camera.
We don't have any preferred one.
If you need a 3D camera we suggest the Intel R200 that has been tested and certified by Intel to run on UP board using the USB 3.0 OTG port.
    Cheers

Hi Fab, thanks, just to ask, is it a pinout issue that no MIPI-CSI cameras for example the Rasperry Pi ones can be used? Could it be a solution to make an adapter for these to fit the UpBoard? It would be great if the Raspberry Pi cameras could be used on the UpBoard, too.

    Hi Alberto,

as we have explained few months ago to the community, it's not possible to connect any CSI camera because a fine tuning is needed and only Intel and the camera maker together can do it.
