eDP support on linux

Hi,
On the wiki page it says:
"eDP display (currently supported on Windows, Linux support will be added with an upcoming BIOS update release)"
I want to know when this BIOS update will become avaialbe and when should I expect a working eDP interface in linux. I need the eDP interface in my product and don't want to pay windows royalties since I expect to sell quite a few units.
For debbuging and develpoment purposes can I assume that the eDP support is fully implemented in Windows?
