Just a quick question...does the UP board usb and ethernet share the same bus like the Pi?

No.
The GBit Ethernet comes from PCIe line.
The USB 2.0 and 3.0 is full native. -
UP-board support 1Gb ETHERNET full speed while RPi2 only 100Mb
