HDMI Audio crashing X Server

Hi,
I've got a freshly installed Up running the latest ubilinux downloaded from here.
Whenever anything plays audio, the hdmi_audio driver blows up the X server.
If I blacklist the hdmi_audio module, it all works ok.
Any ideas what I should do?
Cheers,
Doug.

Datapoint: if I change the audio settings in the BIOS from ACPI to PCI then I no longer get this problem. Don't actually have a device to see if there is audio being sent though, will try that next week.

Thanks Doug!
We never experienced such issues but the variables at play are many.
What kind of PSU is used with your UP Board? Is the 5V4A from the UP Shop?
Which BIOS version is available on your board?
Also, what kind of codec has been used with the audio file that cause the crashes (or is is any audio/video file)? -
Hi dcleri,
Yep, using the PSU from the Up Shop.
The BIOS is UP-CHT01 R0.R (UPC1BM0R) (05/24/2016)
ffprobe reports the audio on one of the mp4s as:
Stream #0:1(und): Audio: aac (LC) (mp4a / 0x6134706D), 48000 Hz, mono, fltp, 130 kb/s (default)
I also experienced the same effect from just installing pulseaudio and opening the pulseaudio control panel, so it might not be codec related.
Cheers,
Doug. -
Hi Doug,
Could you please try to install the latest BIOS from the download section? The one you have on your board is the first released BIOS.

OK, I've done that, and the BIOS upgrade looks like it has worked.
I've got no HDMI issues. I'll keep it in testing and let you know if i experience any further problems, thanks
