The embedded vision kit sounded interesting, so I went and took a look at the Kickstarter. I.... didn't come out impressed. It's just a USB3.0-camera, I can buy those myself. Why not take advantage of the MIPI-CSI? And seeing as how the kit is just the 64GB/4GB dev-kit (189€) with a camera (369€) that means the camera itself costs 180€ -- that's one expensive camera for the specs.

Indeed it is not a cheap camera. It is designed especially for the industrial use case.
We will only recommend to users who would like to build an industrial embedded vision.
