Unable to access on-board storage

I am trying to install Debian on my UP². But during the installation I cannot see the on-board storage.

Any suggestions?

Which version of Debian? The 3.16 kernel in Debian 8 "Jessie" doesn't include drivers for the SD/eMMC controller on these SoCs.

I suggest trying Debian 9 instead

I can confirm that the Debian 9 installer can see the eMMC.
