        <description><![CDATA[<p>I am currently working with a UP Squared Pro 7000 Edge Box and need to adjust the I²C clock speed for an application that requires communication with a slave device at both 100 kbps and 400 kbps.<br />
I followed the instructions provided on the UP Community Wiki <a rel="nofollow" href="https://forum.up-community.org/home/leaving?allowTrusted=1&amp;target=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fup-board%2Fup-community%2Fwiki%2FPinout_UP2%23change-i2c-clock-speed">https://github.com/up-board/up-community/wiki/Pinout_UP2#change-i2c-clock-speed</a> , but I could not locate the South Cluster Configuration option in the CRB chipset menu.<br />
Could you please confirm if updating the BIOS to the latest version will enable access to this configuration menu?</p>

<p>If a BIOS upgrade is required, could you please provide the link to the latest BIOS version along with detailed instructions for performing the upgrade?</p>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello,<br />
On an Up Board Squared Pro 7000 (upn adlni3 a10 1664) with BIOS version UNADAM28 01/01/2024 (updated by myself), I'm trying to force an i2c bus to 100 kHz.<br />
I've tried to change it in the bios but there are no parameters to do so in HAT PIN configuration. So I updated the bios and it's the same thing, there are no parameters to change. I've added i2c_dw.force_bus_speed=100000 in the kernel command line, but the frequency remains at 300 kHz (confirmed on the oscilloscope). Is there any other way to change this frequency?<br />

BIOS says: UPN-ADLN01 R2.4 (UNADAM24) (08/28/2023)</p>

<p>Because I expect our devices to outlast the supplied RTC battery, I would like to preemptively disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery from the unit.</p>

<p>On some other embedded boards, we are given the option (and utilities) to preconfigure the BIOS settings such that there is no penalty when the RTC battery fails, or is removed.  Essentially, we can specify the BIOS defaults from a working pre-configured board, save the settings as a new set of board defaults that are applied by default with or without a working BIOS/RTC battery installed.</p>

<p>Currently, I observe a significant increase in the time for the OS to start booting (Ubuntu) if I unplug the RTC battery, and I would like to avoid that.</p>

<p>Admittedly, I'm somewhat new to this hardware environment (though I'm comfortable with some other similar bits of equipment).  So, it's possible/likely that I am missing something that would ease my concerns.</p>

<p>Please advise if I have any options to mitigate the impact of unplugging the RTC battery.</p>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>It appears I have the latest version 2.1 BIOS.  I'm able to boot OPNsense from a USB flash drive no problem but after installing OPNsense to the eMMC it will often dump me in the EFI shell (if I have it enabled, otherwise BIOS) on the first boot.  Sometimes on a warm boot or after invoking the boot menu I can get it to boot to the eMMC, but not always.  Every time after I reboot from the OS it fails to reboot to the eMMC.</p>

<p>I thought maybe the eMMC is having trouble with initialization so I installed an NVMe SSD and reinstalled OPNsense to it but now I cannot get the pro 7000 to boot to anything except the USB flash drive.  Does anybody have any advice on what I can do next or how to better troubleshoot the boot problems?</p>
