I am currently trying to set up my UP4000 using this carrier board and this 5G module. The UP4000 runs Ubuntu 22.04. The UP4000 is able to see the modem but fails to connect. I have configured the APN/other settings per the carrier's instructions, but when trying to connect it continually times out and fails. I don't think it's a service issue as the SIM card is able to connect when in a mobile hotspot. Based on the wiki page for modems, I don't think there should be any additional drivers needed, so I'm not sure what I'm missing. Has anyone else been able to get this set up working/are there any additional instructions for troubleshooting this setup?

Hi,

I am trying to use PWM on the Up 4000. I have created my Windows IoT Core image following your instructions here, and it successfully boots and GPIO works fine. I'm also running with the Up Framework.
I have downloaded your sample, however this does not seem to run. The code:

controller = await PwmController.GetDefaultAsync();

Fails to run with error:

"Could not set desired frequency."

I have configured the pin in the BIOS for PWM. What am I missing please?
Thanks.

Now we noticed that the Ethernet-Port is not working any more.
If we disconnect the carrier board, the Ethernet-Port works again, so it seems to be related.

We found nothing about it in the docs or the descriptions of both the carrier board and the 5G-Module.

Does somebody know if that's a known issue or whether this is intentional?

I would like to use the UART on the HAT connector. I am having trouble getting a basic loopback test to work. I am using Ubuntu Server 22.04.

ls /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:00:18.?/dw-apb-uart.*/tty/ | grep tty
/sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:00:18.0/dw-apb-uart.3/tty/:
ttyS5

Judging by the wiki, the HAT UART should be ttyS5, so to loopback I short the Tx and Rx and run:

sudo screen /dev/ttyS5 115200

But I get no returned chars. I tried on tty4 to be sure but again, no chars.

Further information on my system. ttyAMC0 and ttyUSB0 are known attached devices, they work OK:

sudo dmesg | grep tty
[ 0.132638] printk: console [tty0] enabled
[ 8.074938] cdc_acm 1-6:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device
[ 8.094024] dw-apb-uart.3: ttyS4 at MMIO 0x91224000 (irq = 4, base_baud = 115200) is a 16550A
[ 8.124707] dw-apb-uart.4: ttyS5 at MMIO 0x91222000 (irq = 5, base_baud = 115200) is a 16550A
[ 8.140810] usb 1-5: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB0

Hoping somebody can offer some advice on what else I can check, am I right in thinking ttyS5 is my port?

I'm trying to install Windows 10 on my UP 4000. I downloaded the media creation tool by Microsoft onto a usb. And then I plugged the usb into my UP 4000 board. On my display screen, it starts running and it goes through the whole process until it says it needs to restart to finishing installing Windows 10. After it finishes restarting, I'm brought back to the initial boot up screen where I need to choose the language, etc for my installation. I can never get past the Windows 10 installation. Please help.

When connecting power, I have no HDMI output and no activity on the LAN connector. The blue LED turns on briefly, and then stays on permanently.
Tried holding the power button and disconnecting the RTC battery but this had no effect.
Anny suggestions?
